Charlotte-based advisor Neil Prakash deployed an AI tool in March to write his quarterly client newsletter, at which point the firm's compliance department deployed its own AI tool to review it. The two systems have been negotiating on the inaugural edition ever since. "The AI keeps softening the language and resubmitting it, and their AI keeps flagging it and sending it back for review," Prakash said. "I think at some point it stopped being about the newsletter and more about proving a point." The document, originally a "Get Ready for Spring!" market update, has been revised 1,140 times and now consists solely of a "Best Carrot Cake for Easter" recipe. Prakash's compliance officer confirmed the recipe was approved, but isn't sure it is edible.
